End of Year Blog Update!

As we have come to the end of the year I wanted you all to know that this blog will no longer be updated and a link will be posted early next year to my new 2016 blog. Although the blog will not be updated I will leave it running so the children of Room 3 2015 will have this to look back on and remember their time as a Year 2 or 3 at Gore Main School! The links will also continue to be valuable home learning tools.

The videos uploaded to this blog of the children will be removed from the blog on the commencement of the school year 2016.

Some parents have indicated that they would like a copy of the video clips on the blog. Below you will find the steps on how to convert a You Tube video to an MP4 video file.

1. Find the video on our blog that you would like to save to your computer and open it in You Tube by clicking the You Tube logo in the bottom right hand corner of the video.

2. The video will open in You Tube. Highlight the website address and right click using your mouse then select copy.

3. Open the YouTube to MP4 Converter Website http://www.clipconverter.cc/ and paste the YouTube website address into the the black (Right click on the box and select paste). Click Continue and MP4.

4. Click Start

5. Click Download to save the video to your computer.

It may seem like a lot of steps but it is quite simple and doesn't take too long!
Remember that you must do this before the end of the first week back to school (5 February) as after this the videos will be deleted and will no longer exist online!

Have a great holiday break everyone and I look forward to seeing you all again next year!
Merry Christmas!

Amazing Award Winners

What a busy week it has been preparing for the end of year concert. These 3 children have stood out and continued being amazing as always no matter how tired they got! Jacob and Taysha have been awarded a certificate from Whaea Marie for their participation and effort during Maori sessions.

Congratulations to our award winners this week.

Santa Visited Gore Main!

We started off our day with a swim in the Gore pool! For lunch we got hot chips and tomato sauce yum!!

After lunch Santa arrived in a police car with his helper! The police car had flashing lights and Christmas songs playing and the siren going! Santa gave us all a present each.
After that we had iceblocks and played with our presents!

End of Year Concert

Reported by Room 3 Reporters

Last night Gore Main School put on an epic and incredible show. I loved it! All ten incredible classes danced and pranced through the night. People clapped and cheered in their seats. Then...curtains down...next performance...BOOM! It was Room 3. They did Splish Splash and the music was cranking loud! People cheered and clapped. An hour later it was all over. When I got home I still felt nervous but proud.
Reporter Jacob

I felt so hot and sweaty because 400 people were sitting down watching me! I was nervous! The music went quickly and then BOOM it was over! Mum and Dad were so proud. I went straight to bed when I got home.

Last night there was an awesome concert at the St James Theatre. It was Gore Main School's End of Year Concert called A Wet Lunchtime. Room 1 did The Ants Go Marching and Room 2 did Barbara Ann. We did Splish Splash! Room 4 did I Can See Clearly Now. Room 5 did Rain and Room 6 did I Like To Move It. Room 7 did Umbrella and Room 8 did Downtown. Room 9 did Walking on Water and finally Room 10 did synchronised swimming. In Room 3's dance I had two partners for the show, Lachlan and Addison. We had to do some different dance moves because we were in a three. When I went on stage I saw 400 people. That is a humongous, incredible crowd! After the show Room 4 and Room 3 had a lemonade ice block. It was raspberry and lemonade and lime. I had lime and it was delicious!

Last night when I crept down the stairs at the St James Theatre for our turn on stage it was exciting but I was nervous. I was shaking like thunder crashing in the sky!
