An Easter Treat

Today the children made Easter treats. They molded chocolate by pouring melted chocolate into a variety of molds. They were able to link this to our inquiry about water as water changes state often going from a solid to a liquid and a gas. They learned that chocolate can also change state by heating it up to change the solid chocolate to liquid chocolate. After they put the chocolate in the molds Mrs Petterson put the melted chocolate in the freezer to cool it down turning it back into a solid.

We made baskets to hold our chocolate shapes so that we could take them home. We loved out Easter treats! Thank you to Mrs Petterson for helping us out!! Thanks also to those who sent along the chocolate molds for us to borrow. We had so many arrive at school this morning that we weren't even able to use them all!
