ANZAC Day

Welcome back to Term 2! In Room 3 we have been focusing on ANZAC Day.The children have been learning lots about the meaning of ANZAC Day and the poppy.

They have created a landscape of Flanders Fields filled with poppies after the war. Some children chose to paint their landscape of the fields at night and others chose a sunny day, some children even painted the sky at dawn as the sun was rising.

They had to think about perspective as they painted and realised the poppies that we way in the distance would look much smaller than the poppies growing right in front of you.

Didn't they do a fantastic job?

On Tuesday Room 3 learned about life as a soldier with Mrs McIntyre through a picture book of letters between a soldier and his family. The children then wrote their own messages home pretending they were soldiers. Come into Room 3 to check these out.

Reminder to all Room 3 parents and children:
School will be closed due to Teachers Only Day this Tuesday (28th April)
