In the first week back this term the children were learning about position and orientation in maths. This topic is all about giving directions and following directions as well as describing the position of objects.
Using the correct language is important when giving directions. The children learned to use words like....
- clockwise and anticlockwise
- left and right
- quarter turn, half turn and full turn
- over, under, above, through, around, beside
- forward and backwards
- diagonal
